About OneSouthCarolina 2012

If you missed joining your fellow DLI graduates for a weekend of fellowship, learning, service and fun this past February, you won't want to miss the 2nd annual OneSouthCarolina to be held March 1st - 3rd, 2013.

OneSouthCarolina, the first statewide gathering of alumni of the Riley Institute’s Diversity Leaders Initiative, included:

  • compelling new information about how diverse South Carolinians fare in the critical arenas of healthcare and education and associated impacts on the state’s economic and social progress
  • high quality, high interest local and national speakers
  • the opportunity to help shape and support emerging education and healthcare initiatives, led and championed by your DLI peers
  • multi-class, multi-region networking opportunities

OneSouthCarolina integrated experiences that showcase South Carolina’s unique culture and helped make this an unforgettable weekend, including:

  • South Carolina Traditions, curated by the South Carolina Arts Commission and featuring award-winning traditional artists and demonstrations of South Carolina's rich cultural heritage, ranging from cast-net making to basketry to musical performance
  • “Hands-on” exploration of South Carolina great food and drink traditions, including Southern hors d’ oeuvres and cocktails from the state’s best chefs and bartenders and the Southern Food Cornucopia on the Beach – a feast of offerings from venerable barbeque and oyster providers from across the state.
  • For those who joined the weekend early, the first annual Diversity Leaders Initiative Golf Classic (yes, golf qualifies as a South Carolina tradition!) was held on Friday morning on one of Hilton Head’s many beautiful courses.
