Eighth Annual Dick and Tunky Riley WhatWorksSC Award Celebration

Presented by the Riley Institute and South Carolina Future Minds

On October 30, 2018, former U.S. Secretary of Education Dick Riley named Grow to Greatness as the winner of the Dick and Tunky Riley WhatWorksSC Award for Excellence. Finalists Charleston County School District Summer Teacher Residency and South Carolina’s Coalition for Mathematics and Science were also recognized. Special guests Dr. Russell Booker, superintendent of Spartanburg School District Seven; Rep. Neal Collins, member of the S.C. House of Representatives; and Susie Shannon, president and CEO of the S.C. Council on Competitiveness, joined Secretary Riley for an on-stage conversation about Finnish and South Carolina public education.
