On December 2, Secretary Riley – along with New Tech Network president Lydia Dobyns and Greenville County School District Superintendent Burke Royster – visited the two first-year New Tech Network schools in Greenville County. These two schools are at Carolina High School and J.L. Mann High School. New Tech at Carolina High will be a full implementation, meaning that all Carolina High students will learn in the New Tech design, and the New Tech Academy at J.L. Mann will function as one of several different learning options for students at the school. The visitors at both schools enjoyed a student-led tour, spoke with students engaged in project-based learning activities, and observed student presentations.
