Evaluation Capacity Building

The Center’s Evaluation Capacity Building Initiative (ECBI) addresses the pressing need for nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and other federally and locally funded programs to have access to affordable services designed to help them build their capacity for evaluation. Many funders increasingly are requiring the organizations in which they invest to provide convincing evidence that programs will drive desired impacts and to collect and synthesize data to demonstrate that promised impacts are achieved. Through the ECBI, the Center works with organizations across the state to improve their capacity to design, implement, and utilize the results of program evaluation so that outcomes can be maximized for all citizens across the state.

A sample of services offered as a part of the ECBI:

  • Assessment of current evaluation readiness and capacity
  • Theory of change development or refinement
  • Logic model development or refinement
  • Identification and/or development of data collection instruments to measure program implementation and outcomes
  • Creation of protocols for ongoing data collection
  • Assistance with data collection, analysis, visualization, and reporting
